Ferdinand

In the winter of 2020, a family of cats moved into the backyard at DharmaCats. Where they came from before that isn't a story we know. Ferdinand was still young — less than a year old.

Malia TNR'd Ferdinand. Eventually the rest of the family moved on.

Ferdinand didn't.

The backyard had become part of his world, and he simply stayed.

And then Ferdinand brought someone home.

Her name is Dean.

Dean is a girl, despite what her name sometimes leads people to assume. She was also TNR'd, and she and Ferdinand became devoted companions. They eat here, rest in the grass, disappear among the plants, and move through the backyard together.

Sometimes they walk side by side and wrap their tails around one another.

Ferdinand chose this place for himself. Somewhere along the way, he apparently decided it was safe enough to bring someone he loved.

He hasn't left. Neither has she.
