Lives here

Jujubee

Juju to her friends. TNR was the plan. Juju had other arrangements.

TNR was the plan.

In 2020, Malia was out TNRing with a friend in the neighborhood where Malia had once lived. Juju's sister had already been found there with a badly mangled back leg. Malia's friend adopted her, and the damage was severe enough that the kitten ultimately needed surgery to remove the leg.

Juju was still out there.

She wasn't injured, but she wasn't particularly interested in being caught, either. It took about three weeks before Malia and her friend finally managed to trap her. Juju was only about eight or nine weeks old.

The plan was TNR.

Juju was trapped. She was fixed.

And then the plan changed.

Malia kept her.

That was in 2020, and Juju has been part of the family ever since.

Sometimes sanctuary begins with an emergency. Sometimes it begins with a carefully made plan. And sometimes a tiny tortoiseshell kitten spends three weeks refusing to cooperate with that plan before quietly becoming part of the household.
